

- Be relaxed as possible, yes, easier said than done, however- it is your day and you are in it together-surrounded by those who love you-they will be happily nervous for you.
- Check references before making final decisions. Sometimes being organized and constantly following up with all hired vendors, still does not get one what one is owed.
- Send out Save-the-Date cards ahead of time; include guest accommodations in the area.
- Create a wedding website for your guests to share all of your wedding details.
- Assign a point person to be responsible for making decisions throughout the day. Be sure to tell the point person what you would like to do with the centerpieces and Boathouse décor at the end of the evening.
- Task a friend or family member to attend to your personal possessions, i.e. envelope box, bouquet, handbag, etc.
- Make a list for your photographer to capture all the photos that are important to you.
- Nervous stomach or not, eat something before the wedding. Arrange for sandwich or veggie tray to share with the wedding party.
- Frame your Invitation to display so the photographer can use it in photos.
- Create a “This Way to the Wedding” roadside sign to be placed on route 72 to give your guests direction. Have fun with it!
- Make your wedding day personal, drop off photos of family and friends to display in The Foyer Lounge.
- Use plenty of hairspray and bobby pins to secure your veil.
- Give each attendant a tentative timeline for the day; include what order they will be walking in and when they are needed for photos.
- It’s a good idea to create a Wedding Day Emergency Kit to include: Stain remover, Band-Aids, scissors, sewing kit, lotion, Advil, antacid, breath mints, tissues, panty hose, emery board, bobby pins, safety pins, straight pins, cotton balls, Q-Tips, clear nail polish, chalk, cash, and a list of all of your vendors with cell phone numbers.
- Remember you will be leaving with much more than you came with; enlist family members to help transport items.
- A welcome bag in each suite is a great way to greet your guests, you may include: bottled beverages, snacks, games, reading material, Long Beach Island maps can be picked up at the local Chamber of Commerce.
